Anne Royan holds a BA from Brown University and attended the Columbia Publishing Course at Columbia University. She is working towards an MFA in writing at Savannah College of Art & Design. She is a freelance contributing writer for magazines.

She has worked in the fashion department at Harper’s Bazaar in New York City and as a PR Director for a variety of jewelry brands.

In 2008, she spent many months traveling solo through the Himalayas and volunteering at non-profit organizations. She taught English and Poetry to monks in the Dalai Lama’s temple and Tibetan refugee children. She is currently completing a memoir based on notes from her journals during this trip. Her essay, "Borrowed Garden", won the national Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP) Intro Journals Award for emerging voices in Nonfiction for 2016.
